Brickell is Miami's financial district and one of its most densely populated residential neighborhoods. It runs south from the Miami River along Biscayne Bay toward the Rickenbacker Causeway, with I-95 to the west. Brickell is a neighborhood within the City of Miami, not a separate city.

The area is named for William and Mary Brickell, who platted it for large homes in the early 1900s, when Brickell Avenue was known as Millionaire's Row. Since the 1970s, office towers and residential high rises have replaced most of those mansions, and Brickell now offers the widest selection of luxury condominiums in the city.
